Something that reminds us all of childhood has to be peanut chaat/shenga masala/mungphali ki chaat. Delicious, chatpata and yummy, this peanut chaat is quick to rustle up.
All it takes is to have some roasted peanuts and some papdis on hand. I have used homemade whole wheat baked papdis which adds to the taste. A few simple finely chopped vegetables along with a sprinkling of chatpata chaat masala is all that goes in. Mouthwatering, what are you waiting for then, it’s winter, gets dark early, so go quickly and make this.
This will definitely make you feel nostalgic and remind you of the park side vendors selling this in paper cones in their big bamboo baskets. When you are roasting groundnuts/peanuts for other dishes like shenga unde roast an extra few. Store them or even store bought lightly salted peanuts will also work well.
Leftover papdis from other elaborate chaats like masala puri or dahi papdi chaat also help in getting this easy chaat onto your plate in a few minutes. Try girmitt, a specialty chaat dish. Also, try other peanut/groundnut dishes!
