A clever way to feed fruits to your kids is by finding innovative ways to disguise them. Kids love sandwiches, so why not incorporate fruits and make fruit sandwich. Delicious and fun to eat finger food, fruit sandwich.
Make them for breakfast or for an after school snack. Fruit sandwich can even be sent in the tiffin. And why only kids, even adults can enjoy a piece or two or three of these fruit sandwich.
They are easy to put together and liked by everyone. I usually add a squeeze of honey to moisten and sweeten the fruit sandwich. I have also smeared some homemade orange marmalade for extra fun. You can pretty much use any fruit which does not get soggy, banana, apple, kiwi, chikku, sliced orange, grapes etc.
Here I have used homemade whole wheat bread. You can use any type of soft bread you like. Enjoy the goodness of fruits sandwiched between your favourite slice. Fun for everyone. - 5-6 slices brown bread
- 2-3 Tbsp orange marmalade
- Few cheese slices (optional)
- Butter to toast
- Honey to drizzle as required
- 1 ripe kiwi
- ½ sweet apple
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 fresh orange/clementine
- Keep all ingredients ready, bread, softened butter and fruits
- Peel and slice bananas, kiwi
- Segment the orange and slice the orange
- Heat a tawa and toast the bread with butter
- Spread orange marmalade all over
- Place a cheese slice
- Place a few fruit slices of apple then banana
- Then place segmented oranges and kiwis
- Drizzle some honey all over
- Place another toasted bread slice on top
- Cut them into small sandwiches and serve immediately
Use any kind of soft bread you like
If you want remove the sides
Use any kind of jam/marmalade/spread you like
Fruit Sandwich Stepwise:
Keep all ingredients ready, bread, softened butter and fruits
Peel and slice bananas, kiwi and apple
Segment the orange and slice the orange
Heat a tawa and toast the bread with butter
Spread orange marmalade all over
Place a cheese slice
Place a few fruit slices of apple then banana
Then place segmented oranges and kiwis
Drizzle some honey all over
Place another toasted bread slice on top
Cut them into small sandwiches and serve immediately
