The sweltering heat makes you do funny things or constructive things. Just breaking out into a mad dance to cool off the sweat (or not) or come up with a blueberry lassi idea. The other day I opened the refrigerator door when there was a big heatwave around here, found some blueberries and yogurt. So blended all of these into a chilled blueberry lassi.
Blueberries are rich in anti-oxidants and yogurt has good bacteria for your gut! So that’s a very good combination. Blueberries and lemons are the best of friends, they are inseparable. So why wait, go blend yourself a fancy blueberry lassi which is lip-smacking!
For making this blueberry lassi you can use fresh blueberries if available but frozen work just as well! Also I have sweetened my blueberry lassi with honey but do it with sugar if you want. Feel free to garnish with grapes or fresh blueberries or even just a mint leaf. More such fun chilled beverages:
Mixed Grape juice
Watermelon Juice
Cherry Lemonade and more
- 1 Cup thick curd
- 1 unwaxed organic lemon
- ½ Cup frozen or fresh blueberries
- Honey to taste
- ½ Cup chilled water
- Few red/green grapes to garnish
- Wash and zest a lemon, keep it aside to garnish
- In a blender, add the blueberries
- Add thick yogurt
- Next halve the zested lemon and squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the blender
- Drizzle honey to taste
- Pour chilled water
- Blend all into a thick lassi
- Garnish with grapes and zested lemon
If you want add sugar instead of honey
You can also use a lime instead of a lemon, make sure to use organic unwaxed one!
Blueberry Lassi Stepwise:
Wash and zest a lemon, keep it aside to garnish
In a blender, add the blueberries
Add thick yogurt
Next halve the zested lemon and squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the blender
Drizzle honey to taste
Pour chilled water
Blend all into a thick lassi
Garnish with grapes and zested lemon
