A vegetarian version of the famous BLT, ALT is a very popular sandwich amongst vegetarians. It is crunchy yet soft and if you are looking for a low calorie, healthy sandwich then try this version of ALT.

Crunchy avocado lettuce tomato sandwich

Ingredients
- 4 slices of multi-grain bread
- 1 sliced ripe avocado
- 1 sliced tomato
- 1 onion cut into roundels and separated into rings
- Few leaves of mixed lettuce or any kind of lettuce washed and torn into smaller pieces
- 1-2 Tbsp tomato ketchup
- Black pepper to sprinkle
- Butter to toast(optional)
For Low Calorie Spread:
- ¼ Cup hung curd/thick yogurt
- 1 Tsp freshly ground black pepper
- ½ Tsp dijon mustard/regular mustard
Method
- In a bowl, take the hung yogurt, add black pepper and mustard. Mix well, keep aside
- To make sandwich, toast bread slices lightly with/without butter
- Add a dollop of hung yogurt mix onto two slices. Spread evenly
- On the other two slices(lids of sandwich), spread some tomato ketchup
- On the yogurt slice, place tomato slices and sprinkle some pepper
- Place a few onion rings on tomato
- Arrange a few slices of avocado
- Top with a few lettuce leaves
- Cover with ketchup slice, ketchup side over the lettuce
- Toast and serve immediately with some salad and baked chips(optional) on the side
Notes
You can use eggless mayonnaise, mayonnaise or cream in place of yogurt
