A bowl of soup is food for the soul. Soups are very comforting and satisfying. Spinach soup is one of those soups which can be simply gulped down with some garlic bread on the side or just like that. It is creamy, thick and very delicious.
Imagine the warm soup going down your throat after a long day at work on a cold winter night. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and make this creamy spinach soup 🙂
Not only do you get the warmth from the soup but also the essential nutrients from the goodness of these beautiful green leaves. Using fresh spinach to make this soup makes the soup retain the emerald green colour of the leaves.
It does not require a whole lot of flavouring at all, some simple black pepper and salt seasoning will do the trick. With my spinach dishes I usually love to add a pinch or two of nutmeg/jaiphal as it goes really well with the flavour of spinach.
You can even add a dash of cream to make it extra rich and creamier but milk also will do the trick. Milk mellows the flavour of spinach and gives it a rich smoothness. Enjoy this creamy spinach soup and here are more soups from FOI! Also do try other spinach recipes. ... “Spinach Soup | How to make spinach soup?”

Starters and appetizers always set the tone of a meal. Delicious starters served in the right portions define the quality of the rest of the courses. Kebabs/Kababs are one of the most preferred kind of starters. Kababs are originally from Middle East. These need not be non-vegetarian as is the common notion. Spinach Corn Cheddar Cheese Muffins | Mexican Savoury Muffins

Packed with a punch of jalapenos, with cheese, corn and spinach – Mexican style muffins
08/17/2016 9:53:27 PM vindhyadesai

I have a soft spot for anything savoury 🙂 Whenever I get an opportunity, I try to make savoury things to nibble on. This is Dish 4 of the World Cuisine Series and it is from Mexico. One of my favourite cuisines to prepare and of course to eat (gobble ’em all up). These are muffins with Mexican flavours, corn, jalapenos, cheese, what is not to like about them. Whenever I bake anything I try to make them all with whole wheat. Along with whole wheat flour, I have also used yellow cornmeal which is maize flour, easily available in stores/supermarkets. It gives a nice texture to the muffins, you also get to incorporate another grain and cornmeal is widely used in Mexican cuisine! The most important thing about muffins is not to overmix the batter/mixture which will make them chewy and hard. Mix and make muffins, enjoy them as a snack or for a quick nibble with a glass of milk in the morning. Spinach Avocado Caramelized Onion Quesadilla

Melty quesadillas with spinach, avocados and sweet caramelized onions
06/23/2016 10:34:34 PM vindhyadesai

Quesadilla (pronounced: ‘kesa-Deeya’) is a famous dish from Mexico. They are made by stuffing tortillas with different types of fillings on the open side with cheese and roasted till cheese melts. The filled tortillas are folded into a semi-circle or half moon shape and served. Sometimes they are cut into quarters or 6s or 8s and they make a great starter dish for a party. There are many ways of making a quesadilla. It is really all about the different types of fillings. Fresh homemade tortillas are the best to hold the quesadilla together. Tortillas are like thin rotis without any oil, made using whole wheat flour or corn flour or white flour. Here, I have used fresh homemade whole wheat tortillas. Slowly caramelized onions taste sweet along with with some sweet red chillis. Quesadillas need patience while assembling, an easy way is to put together all ingredients, making them will then be a breeze. ... “Spinach Avocado Caramelized Onion Quesadilla”

Pasta can be be made for an early evening supper. It can be made in various ways with various types of ingredients and of course with different shapes and sizes of pasta. Pasta with loads of vegetables is my favourite way to eat it. Carbohydrates balanced with enough fibre. Cooking pasta is tricky business but very easy if you follow the instructions on the pack you have got. The most important thing to remember about cooking a pasta dish is to cook the pasta with the sauce you are making which makes the pasta non-sticky and all the flavours of the sauce enter into the pasta making your dish very tasty, just like how the Italians do it.
Pasta Florentine is a dish from the Florence region of Italy and it also means something served on a bed of spinach.

Spinach and Peas Risotto

Creamy comforting risotto for a cold winter night

Risotto is a creamy rice dish from Italy. Wine, butter are generally added to traditional risotto dishes. Here, I do not use any wine. It can be made with different kinds of vegetables, stocks. The rice grains used in a risotto are round short variety like Arborio rice. These days you will find them labelled as ‘Risotto Rice’ available in cartons in supermarkets. Risotto is a very comforting dish, it is easy to make but getting the right consistency is very important. Cooking on low flame and adding the broth/stock little by little are the keys to a perfect creamy risotto with rice cooked al-dente (to the tooth) ... “Spinach and Peas Risotto”
