Yummy veg fried rice with bright coloured stir fried vegetables
06/03/2018 9:05:47 AM vindhyadesai
Back with another street food from FOI. This time it’s an Indo-Chinese dish, street style veg fried rice. Along with pav bhaji this used to be my favourite dishes to order in canteens near my college. A platter of gobhi manchurian to share with friends, the perfect combo! This time I made paneer manchurian to serve with veg fried rice. It also tastes delicious with veggies in hot gravy sauce. I have posted a few pictures below from another time.
For me the hit of this dish, veggies of course but it is freshly pounded black pepper which adds the distinct taste. It brings out the flavour of all the veggies and the slightly burnt taste gives it an unique flavour.

Imagine a rainy evening and you are digging into a plate of spicy and buttery pav bhaji. Pav bhaji needs no introduction, it is the most loved street food. It is from western part of India specifically from Maharashtra but famous throughout. Different states make it in different ways but the base is pretty much the same.
Loads of butter in a spicy gravy all mashed into a delicious gravy. This gravy is served with butter toasted pav or buns. Some chopped onions, chopped coriander, a lemon wedge and a dollop of butter adorn the pav bhaji plate. I generally use homemade pav bhaji masala to make pav bhaji but you can make use of store bought masala too. ... “Pav Bhaji | Street Style Pav Bhaji | Snack Recipes”
Soft paneer in a velvety smooth cream based masala, ever famous paneer butter masala
05/17/2018 10:24:49 AM vindhyadesai
Paneer butter masala or PBM is one of the most loved paneer dishes. There was a time when we used to always order paneer butter masala by default. What’s not to like, soft golden paneer cubes in a buttery creamy tomato based gravy. Loads of butter and some of cream to finish off the gravy, now how can that taste bad!
Paneer butter masala can be served with roti, phulka, naan or kulcha. I served it with a simple dal tadka, peas pulao, pudina raitha and some phulka. It’s the perfect combination. Cashews make the gravy rich and extra creamy. Do not feel daunted while making paneer butter masala. Get all the ingredients ready and make the gravy easily. ... “Paneer Butter Masala | Paneer Recipes | Gravy Recipes”

Finding ways to make dosas is one of my favourite activities in cooking. Dosas are delicious any day be it neer dosa, hotel style rava dosa or the ever favourite masala dosa. If you can incorporate leafy veg like menthya soppu/methi/fenugreek leaves to make menthya soppina dosa then kids will love it.
Menthya soppina dosa is also rich in protein with toor dal and urad dal. Rice provides the body and the all the masalas are added while grinding the batter giving it a super tasty flavour.
