Serves: 1 bowl
- 1½ Cup finely chopped green beans
- 1 Tsp coconut oil
- ½ Tsp mustard/saasuve/rai
- 1 Tsp urad dal/uddina bele
- A pinch of hing
- 1 slit green chilli
- 4-5 curry leaves
- ½ Cup packed freshly grated coconut
- Salt to taste
- In a pan, heat oil
- Splutter mustard and add urad dal
- Add a pinch of hing and fry till dal turns golden
- Throw in a slit green chilli and tear in the curry leaves
- Add chopped beans
- Cover and cook till they turn soft
- Season with salt
- Lastly add grated coconut and mix well
- Cover and cook for a minute
- Serve hot with saaru and rice!
Use tender beans to make this palya
Ensure you use freshly grated coconut
You can also choose to use regular cocoking oil instead of coconut oil
