Warm, comforting, loaded with healthy dietary fibre, apple cinnamon oatmeal
Ingredients
  • 1 Cup oats with bran*
  • 2½ Cups whole milk
  • ½ Tbsp butter
  • Cinnamon powder to sprinkle
  • 1 Cup chopped apple
  • Honey to drizzle on top
Method
  1. Heat milk on low flame till it just scalds (just before boiling)
  2. Add butter and mix well, butter melts
  3. Slowly sprinkle oats and mix well
  4. Keep stirring on low flame till the oatmeal thickens
  5. Oatmeal is now ready
  6. To serve, spoon prepared porridge into glass bowls or glass jars, sprinkle powdered cinnamon on top
  7. Place chopped apple, this is the first layer
  8. Repeat, spoon some porridge, sprinkle cinnamon powder, add chopped apple
  9. Drizzle with honey on top
  10. Enjoy the comforting goodness on a winter morning!
Notes
Butter is optional

You can also make this vegan, skip butter and honey, and use a plant based milk/vegan milk

*To keep it gluten free, use pure oats, check packaging to see if it is suitable for gluten-free consumption

Make oatmeal on low flame or you will get a burnt oatmeal at the bottom of the pan
