Serves: 2-3 people
- 1 Cup oats with bran*
- 2½ Cups whole milk
- ½ Tbsp butter
- Cinnamon powder to sprinkle
- 1 Cup chopped apple
- Honey to drizzle on top
- Heat milk on low flame till it just scalds (just before boiling)
- Add butter and mix well, butter melts
- Slowly sprinkle oats and mix well
- Keep stirring on low flame till the oatmeal thickens
- Oatmeal is now ready
- To serve, spoon prepared porridge into glass bowls or glass jars, sprinkle powdered cinnamon on top
- Place chopped apple, this is the first layer
- Repeat, spoon some porridge, sprinkle cinnamon powder, add chopped apple
- Drizzle with honey on top
- Enjoy the comforting goodness on a winter morning!
Butter is optional
You can also make this vegan, skip butter and honey, and use a plant based milk/vegan milk
*To keep it gluten free, use pure oats, check packaging to see if it is suitable for gluten-free consumption
Make oatmeal on low flame or you will get a burnt oatmeal at the bottom of the pan
